Tolstoy once wrote that "Art is not a handicraft, it is the transmission of feeling the artist has experienced".
My hope is that I transmit my feelings to viewers about the things I paint, whether it is a beautiful flower or landscape or just ordinary events in daily life. I know I will never be able to recreate the beauty of God's work, but I try to create a memory of what captured my interest about that subject, whether it is the light falling on a petal or a special place I have been. Maybe you will feel some connection to these experiences.
